Cheng Ho, a great navigator, a global explorer, a diplomat, a worrior, an East West trading network builder, a cultural disseminator, an adventurer and a Muslim eunuch in the Ming court.

From 1405 to 1433, Cheng Ho led a huge fleet of ships to venture into the Western ocean seven times across the South China Sea, Indian Ocean and Persian gulf. Cheng Ho had set up a midway trading port and built a stockade at Melaka and communication between Melaka and China became increasingly frequent.

Cheng Ho did two ceremonial functions in Melaka. He conferred the title of the king of Melaka on Parameswara and he erected the stone poem-inscription on the Western Mountain which had been designated as Melaka State Mountain, thus proclamimed Melaka a Kingdom.

Behind the glory and achievements was a story of struggle to succeed against all odds.

We used this house as residence of Cheng Ho to promote Cheng Ho spirit.
